Frequently asked questions about the transition of DAB Accounting and tax clients to Neve CPA

  1. Can I continue to use my current record keeping system even it is manual (not computer) such as one-write, etc.?

    • If you like your record keeping system the way it is, you may keep it. Neve will use the information you provide the same way DAB always has to prepare your financial statements and tax returns.

  2. What is going to happen to my payroll company?

    • If you like your current payroll company you may certainly keep them. As long as Neve (and Rainy) can obtain the information needed to complete your financial statements, tax returns, and ERC (if applicable), we are good.

  3. Dave always had me sign and mail my tax return. How does electronic tax filing work?

    • Neve will upload your completed tax return to a secure portal for your review. Neve will also priority mail to you (or make available for pick up) the required signature forms and payment vouchers. After you approve your completed tax return, you will sign the electronic filing authorization forms we provide. Neve will submit your tax returns directly to the IRS and state(s), using highly specialized, ultra-secure software. This prevents your personal information from traveling through the US mail system, keeping your identity safe. The process also provides us with an IRS “acceptance” of your return, usually within 24 hours. If you are owed a refund from the IRS, it will process within 2-3 weeks, and can be direct deposited into your bank account.

  4. Is Neve able to process returns for all states?

    • Yes, we are able to prepare and file returns for all states as well as returns containing multiple states. This is true for all individual, estate, inheritance, corporation, partnership, and LLC tax returns.

  1. What are my accounting and tax preparation fees going to look like now?

    • In the short term, Neve CPA fees will remain as close as possible to what DAB was charging you for the basic services. You will receive an invoice from Neve as services are completed, same as you always have from DAB. We are in the process of evaluating the service requirements of every business and individual tax client. In early 2023, we expect to send you a written engagement letter, specifically stating the services we will provide, and what your fixed fee will be moving forward. Our philosophy with regard to fees is simple – we intend to add value on every engagement – our goal is to save you more in taxes than our overall fee!

  1. How will Neve accept payments for services?

    • Cash, check, all credit cards, ACH (direct debit) payments, Venmo, and PayPal are all acceptable forms of payment. You will even be able to pay online at nevegroup.com; your invoice will provide a payment link. In addition, you may call Jessica, our Client Excellence Coordinator, and she will process your payment.

  1. Will Jeanne Black still be available to go over what papers I need to provide during tax time so you can complete my personal tax return?

    • Yes, for the coming tax season, Jeanne Black will be available to help you gather the required tax information. If you need Jeanne for anything she will be there at 215-822-1126.

  1. Where should I drop off my tax papers and other source documents now?

    • You may still drop off your accounting and tax information at the drop box outside Jeanne Black’s residence. Jeanne will still be available at the DAB office in Chalfont, PA. You may also drop off your documents at the Neve office in Plymouth Meeting, PA. In addition, Neve uses a secure portal so you may upload/download tax documents and tax returns digitally. Watch your email for a Liscio portal invite to activate your account! Since all of your tax documents will be scanned, uploading documents will greatly speed the process of preparing your tax returns!

  1. How can I speak/meet with Ernie? Is there anything you need from me right now?

    • You may call (610)278-8400 to schedule an appointment with Ernie, via our Neve receptionist team. You may also schedule online at www.nevegroup.com. The appointment can be in office or by phone. Ernie can help explain the new DAB to Neve transition process, as well as answer any questions you may have at this time. In order to properly serve each and every client, and provide dedicated attention with each interaction, Ernie only works by appointment.

  1. How long after I provide my tax documents will my tax return be completed?

    • Upon intake of your documents, your assigned Neve tax team preparer will facilitate the process, and ask questions as needed. Your return will be reviewed by a Senior CPA, then Ernie will perform a final review, prior to your package being mailed to you. The process will likely take 7-10 business days, but can be less.

  1. How is Neve organized as a firm? How many CPAs, accountants and tax team members will there be?

    • Our team of CPA’s/tax preparers will be preparing and reviewing your returns. Our support staff will assist with tax return assembly, tax return electronic filing, and customer service. Neve is already a well-established CPA firm and tax office, having been in existence for over 20 years. Like DAB, Neve has many long-term business and individual clients. Ernie Neve, CPA (the only owner) has 3 CPA’s working under him, along an Operations Director, a Bookkeeping Coordinator, and Jessica, our Client Excellence Coordinator. Rainy (from) DAB has been added as a full time Neve team member, and 3 additional tax preparers/CPA’s have been added for tax season. Jeanne Black will help facilitate client introductions, and assist with this transition through the end of tax season 2023. Our goal was to create more capacity than needed to keep everyone’s work moving!

    • An engagement letter for Neve, your new CPA firm, is a legal document that describes the overall business relationship with you, the client. It clearly defines the services included, how they will be delivered, and what your responsibility will be in the relationship. The scope of the work will be clearly defines, along with the price and payment terms. An engagement letter will be sent to you via email in January 2023. Please read it carefully, and let us know any questions you may have. You may sign electronically, and your work will not begin until you do.
